WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE BELIEVE the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, the only true standard for the believer’s life and practice. (Ps. 119: 89, 142, 160; Jn. 10:35, 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:15-16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)

 

WE BELIEVE that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Is. 43:10-11; 1 Cor. 8:4-6; 2 Cor. 13:14; Gal. 3:20; 1 Tim. 2:5; 1 Pet. 1:2)

 

WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father. (Is. 7:4; Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:27; Jn. 1:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:3-7; Col. 1:15, 3:1)

 

WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God, that he was tempted by Satan and fell, and that all following Adam have sinned and are sinful; that repentance toward God, faith in Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for salvation. (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12; Acts. 20:21; Rom. 10:9-10; Jn. 1:13, 3:6)

WE BELIEVE that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin. (Gen. 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14, 17, 22:19; Lev. 18:22-23, 20:13, 15-16; Matt. 19:4-6, 9; Rom. 1:18-31; I Cor. 6:9-10, 15-20; I Tim. 1:8-11; Jude 7)

 

WE BELIEVE that God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is immoral and therefore sin. (Gen. 1:27; Deut. 22:5)

 

WE BELIEVE it is the will of God that all believers should be filled with the Holy Spirit, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service, and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world, and fully dedicated to the will of God.  This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. (Jn. 15:26; Acts 1:8; Rom. 15:15-16; 1 Cor. 6:11; 2 Thess. 2:13)

 

WE BELIEVE that the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the edification of God’s people and to enable them to be effective witnesses in the world. (1 Cor. 12, 14)

 

WE BELIEVE in the personal return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the resurrection of all persons, in final judgment, and in eternal reward and punishment. (Matt. 16:27; 24; Jn. 14:1-3; 1 Thess. 4:16; Matt. 25:31-46; 2 Cor. 5:10; Heb. 9:27; 1 Pet. 4:5; Rom. 2:7; Heb. 11:6)

 

WE BELIEVE that all Christians are called to be witnesses to the grace of God, and to preach the Gospel to every person in obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8)
